My Holiday Story


This year I did not go back to my hometown in sukabumi because all my family has gathered at home and the road to my hometown was so jammed, so I decided not to go home this year.
At the first Idul Fitri holiday, I didn't go to anywhere, I just gather with family at home, after did Eid prayers with family, I wait for my sister and brother came to greets and  shake hands, we also eat typical Eid foods like ketupat, rendang, chicken opor, and a cake Lebaran typical such as nastar, kastengel, ketapang, nuts, and rangginang.
For one day I just gathered with family in my home and greets or shake hands with the guests who come home, sometimes I miss my hometown because usually on every Idul fitri, me and my family back to shake hands and vacation. Sukabumi have various kinds of tourist attractions such as beaches and waterfalls, the view is so beautiful and cool air.
At the time of Idul Fitri second until seventh, my family and I went to the safari park located at the peak, We see many animals that roam freely there, the animals there look like being in the ecosystem itself. They come together with their kind even sometimes they are looks aloof. Many of them are passing in front of us. My family was initially frightened because many animals that could be spelled "BUAS" off and road free there without any "coach".
The afternoon started coming, we went to the hotel which is not far from the safari park. We are at the lodge "Safari Garden" which I think is quite strategic because it is close to buy snacks and restaurant
The days I spent with my family to travel as much as possible on the third day to the end of the sixth. Feel the peace, laughter, togetherness with family. Very rarely can we get together like this if there are no special days. Father and sister who is busy with her job, my mother is also busy taking care of the household, my brother who is still in school, Even myself who is also busy with my college. Nevertheless my family life remains harmonious.

This is Why I Write

Thoughts pound in my head, day after day, until I get them down on paper. Each idea brings out a slice of what’s inside of me.
That may mean hours of writing fiercely, while thoughts flip through my head and new ideas emerge. Other times it means crumbling up pages of crossouts, or retyping one page over and over until I’m satisfied with how it reads. Then there are times that are maddening; I can’t go forward or backward, instead I stare at a blank page for hours.
Still I write. I can’t imagine how I could stop.
Writing is power. I control my writing. It’s as stable as I am. No one can change it, except for me. I make all the decisions. Other people give me advice, but I’m the one who puts the words on the paper.
As a writer, I am free. No one tells me what I can and can’t say. I have to decide what part of me should be written, how much of me I want to share. There are no rules or boundary lines to follow. Some things aren’t meant to be written, but the only way to learn what they are is by writing them.
Writing isn’t all facts. The facts are what can be taught, but the rest comes only from the writer. Teachers can give us guidelines, advice, and encouragement that we’ll treasure, but the heart of a piece comes from us. Writing is more than following rules and advice; it requires that the writer follow her heart.
Writing expands me. It stimulates my mind. When I write, I feel alive, I want to know everything. I’m always acquiring new skills. Soon after I started writing I needed more answers than I could get from my English book or from my parents. I started learning by studying how other people wrote, and then picked up on my own mistakes. I pored over every bit of information I could find. A lot of the time I improved subconsciously, absorbing new vocabulary and techniques from all around me.
My writing is always changing. Sometimes I’m half way through a page, and I’ll just rewrite it completely. What I find interesting about writing is that I can see myself growing along with it. It makes me look at the world through different perspectives, and helps me understand myself.
My writing gradually grows. I spend hours trying to capture the core of myself within the empty pages of my journal. Over time, my writing becomes more structured as I carefully choose every word that I use to make them fly right off the page into my readers’ minds.
Writing is my companion. It’s what I do in my spare time. On rainy summer days, while my mother works, my father is outside, and my sister is at a friend’s house, I write. I pour out my deepest secrets, my strongest feelings. This is what I do. This is why I write.

Disadvantages of computers in the classroom

 Laura from youngwritersworkshop.com talk about some of the advantages and disadvantages of using computers in the classroom. According to Laura "Both the advantages and disadvantages of computers in the classroom are not very well documented so it’s a little bit difficult to make a really well supported case" but there are some disadvantages in the use of computers. For example is the lack of preparation of teachers to use computers effectively. Maybe there are some teachers who have training in how to teach with the aid of computers in the classroom.

 Generally, teachers who have been so long taught not have any special skills to teach with computers. In fact, sometimes you will find a teacher who can not teach using a computer. Another disadvantage is if the computer is in a class connected to the internet that allows students to open the inappropriate material. Without specific support from teachers, the computers and internet can be dangerous.

 Another disadvantage is the computer may spend time and therefore teachers should be able to carefully select software on student computers. Teachers at least have a strategy to prevent students to opening the inappropriate websites and also helps them to use the search engines so that students do not get the materials are not useful when searching.

Contohnya adalah kurangnya persiapan guru untuk menggunakan komputer secara efektif. Mungkin ada beberapa guru yang telah melakukan pelatihan bagaimana cara mengajar dengan bantuan komputer di dalam kelas.

 Umumnya guru yang telah lama mengajar tidak mempunyai keahlian khusus untuk mengajar dengan komputer. Bahkan terkadang kalian akan menemukan guru yang tidak bisa mengajar menggunakan bantuan komputer. Kerugian lain adalah jika komputer yang ada di dalam kelas terhubung dengan internet yang memungkinkan siswa untuk membuka materi yang tidak pantas. Tanpa dukungan yang spesifik dari guru, internet dan komputer bisa menjadi berbahaya.

 Kerugian lain yaitu komputer dapat menghabiskan waktu maka dari itu guru harus mampu berhati-hati memilih software yang ada pada komputer siswa. Guru setidaknya harus mempunyai strategi untuk mencegah siswa membuka situs yang tidak pantas dan juga membantu mereka untuk menggunakan mesin pencari agar siswa tidak mendapatkan materi yang tidak berguna saat melakukan pencarian.
